PHP/MYSQL - Multiple connections to the same database?

PHP/MYSQL - Multiple connections to the same database?

I wish did fix the issue. You are reusing the connection initiated in mysqli_connect.
A better way could be to use or create a DataHandler and implement PDOs. It could allow you to perform timing analytics on queries, automate binding parameters, destroy the connection once its finished with etc.

it helps some times Creating connections can be expensive (I don't have a reference for this statement as yet Edit: Aha! Here it is) so it seems as if the consensus is to use fewer connections. Using a single connection for all queries on a single page seems to be a better choice than multiple connections.

may help you . When building dynamic websites I use a php include to make my connections to the database. The included file is very basic: , Your last question is easy.
db.config.php
code :
$host = '';
$user = '';
$pass = '';
$db = '';
include 'db.config.php';

$conn = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass);
mysql_select_db($db,$conn);
include 'db.config.php';

class SortableExample
{
  protected $conn;
  public function __construct()
  {
    global $host, $user, $pass, $db;
    $this->conn = mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass);
    mysql_select_db($db,$this->conn);
  }
}

this one helps. The simplest way is to make the connection at the beginning of your script. The mysql functions will use the last open connection to do their work, so there is no need to connect inside each function.
code :
//Start of your file
mysql_connect()

function a(){
// no connect here, just use mysql
mysql_query($sql)
}

function b(){
// no connect here, just use mysql
mysql_query($sql)
}

wish help you to fix your issue If you've installed apache on windows, you should have the apache benchmark tool (ab.exe). Create your php script to insert a row and make it accessible via: http://127.0.0.1/insert.php. Test 100 concurrent connections by running this ab command:
code :
ab.exe -n 100 -c 100 http://127.0.0.1/insert.php

I hope this helps you . I don't like how you're setting up your data mappers. You're creating a new connection for every mapper, even if it uses a provider that already has an established connection. In other words, every data mapper creates a new database object.
Ideally, these database objects should be saved and passed to the data mappers that need them. Auto injecting typically works pretty well. What that means is you don't have to instantiate objects with the new keyword, but by requesting them through your object's constructing paramters.
code :
class Example1Mapper extends DataMapper {
    function __construct( Provider1 $provider1 ) { ... }
}

class Example2Mapper extends DataMapper {
    function __construct( Provider1 $provider1, Provider2 $provider2 ) { ... }
}
