Any of those help You probably want to use the h5py package:
code :
import h5py

with h5py.File("myfile.h5") as f:
    print(f.keys())  # works like a dict

it helps some times I needed to do this kind of thing all the time, and decided it would be neat to make a hdf5 version of pickle: https://github.com/telegraphic/hickle
The motivation was storing python dictionaries of numpy arrays, which sounds like what you're after:
code :
import hickle as hkl
import numpy as np
data = {
        'dataset1' : np.zeros((100,100)),
        'dataset2' : np.random.random((100,100))
        }
hkl.dump(data, 'output_filename.hkl')

wish helps you Want to access/create an arbitrary group in an HDF5 db file using pytables. The file has the following structure:
code :
row_str = 'h5f.root.{}'.format(user)
    where = eval(row_str)
    subjectGroup = h5f.createGroup(where, subjectName)

may help you . You should use the H5Ldelete routine (or the Group::unlink method in C++)

I think the issue was by ths following , I have the same issue. It appears the cause is related to the way tables checks every single node value to create a list of keys. I've raised this to pandas dev.
If you want to check whether a key is in the store then
code :
store.__contains__(key)

I wish this helpful for you From here and the docs link is this http://docs.h5py.org/en/latest/high/group.html#Group.visit,
code :
def print_attrs(name, obj):
    print(name)
    for key, val in obj.attrs.items():
        print("    %s: %s" % (key, val))

f = h5py.File('foo.hdf5', 'r')
f.visititems(print_attrs)
