forEach for Uint8ClampedArray

forEach for Uint8ClampedArray

Any of those help forEach doesn't return any value, it's basically just a for loop over the contents. If you want to do a 1-1 transform and return a new array, then use the map method.

Hope that helps The only way to know (especially for such small indices as you have, where the overhead of a method call is more significant) is to benchmark the two solutions against each other on your target platform.
In general, the builtin methods are supposed to be faster as they can use the underlying data structures more efficiently. At least as long as they are not required by the spec to consider lots of weird edge cases, and of course when their implementations is actually optimised.

help you fix your problem I'm writing a node addon which accepts HTML canvas Image data, that's of type Uint8ClampedArray. I want to modify the the contents of this array without any extra copy. , Ok, figured it out.
code :
v8::Local<v8::Uint8ClampedArray> arr;
unsigned char *data = (unsigned char *)arr->Buffer()->GetContents().Data();
Getting bits from Javascript Uint8ClampedArray

Getting bits from Javascript Uint8ClampedArray

seems to work fine I have a node server running, and in the server I generate and store into Redis a bunch of bits representing colours on a canvas. Every four bits of the stored bits represents a 4 bit colour. (Ex. If I store 001001101011111, then the colours I'm interested in are 0010, 0110, 1011, and 1111). , First of all, you can do:
code :
board = o["board"];
var clampedBoard = new Uint8ClampedArray(board);
var view = Buffer.from(result);
var initial_send = {"initial_send":true, "board":[...view]};
Uint8ClampedArray.from is not a function

To fix this issue You can replace these very calls to new Uint8ClampedArray([0]) and new Uint8ClampedArray([1]). That will do exactly the same, with better browser support.
code :
const a1 = Uint8ClampedArray.from([0]);
const a2 = new Uint8ClampedArray([0]);

console.log(a1);
console.log(a2);

const b1 = Uint8ClampedArray.from([1]);
const b2 = new Uint8ClampedArray([1]);

console.log(b1);
console.log(b2);

fixed the issue. Will look into that further ctx.getImageData will return an ImageData object, which data property will be an Uint8ClampedArray just like your lib is requiring.
code :
const ctx = document.createElement('canvas').getContext('2d');
ctx.canvas.width = ctx.canvas.height = 20;
ctx.fillStyle='red';
ctx.fillRect(0,0,20,20);
// get an ImageData of your whole canvas
const img = ctx.getImageData(0,0,ctx.canvas.width,ctx.canvas.height);
console.log(img.data instanceof Uint8ClampedArray, img.data);
// [r, g, b, a, r, g, b, a...
// [255, 0, 0, 255, 255, 0, 0, 255...
