hope this fix your issue There is only one class name per object in java. If you want to know the name of super class, you have to use: getClass().getSuperclass().getSimpleName().
Since both objects are new B(), doesn't matter if you are calling super.toString() or toString(), both will return the name of class B, because getClass() return always the name of the class that you created by using new.

Any of those help From your code, I can't tell what type of logger you are using (based on the method signature of info(), it does not appear to be a log4j nor a java.util logger), but I suspect that calling

it fixes the issue To get the start Point you must cast yourself to a Point. You can call your super.toString to access the toString of the parent class.
