To fix the issue you can do How can i add an existing library, checked out from github, to my project without copying it into the modules directory? , You can do it in two ways.

fixed the issue. Will look into that further For anyone reading this... my conclusion so far: It is apparently not possible to use such a library (from Eclipse) without modifying those a little bit. I did these changes to get them working so far:

it helps some times Step 1: Select Project > Right Click > Open Module Settings (F12) > Projects Settings > Click Modules.
Step 2: Click your Project > you will see 3 tabs : Sources/Path/Dependencies. Step 3 : Select Dependencies tab. You will see green '+' button to the right of 'Scope' title. Click on this and it will allow you to add Jars and libs.

I wish this helpful for you Something like this can be fixed with:
remove project dependency from settings.gradle file remove dependency from build.gradle gradle sync Android Studio should show an info that a dependency has been removed add dependencies again
