Any of those help fr list has word "o|", which results in '||' in the final regexp. That is not handled well by parser. Changing "o|" to "o" solves the problem.
Or words could be escaped with re.escape. Then error in one word wouldn't ruin whole regex.

like below fixes the issue I would suggest getting Cygwin if you are on Windows, otherwise just use the command line and go with
code :
grep 'Copyright' theFile.txt | grep -v 'MyCompanyName' > theParsedFile.txt

hope this fix your issue Use word boundary \b, and I think you would like to match more than one group per line (g at the end):
code :
/\b(detroit|to|christmas|holiday|test|his)\b/gi

like below fixes the issue The first case adds true to aString and then checks with the ternary.
It is basically this operation with parenthesis
code :
(aString + true) ? "Appended" : "No Append"
var aString = "test ";

console.log(aString + true ? "Appended" : "No Append"); // 'Appended'
console.log((aString + true) ? "Appended" : "No Append"); // 'Appended'
console.log(aString + (true ? "Appended" : "No Append")); // 'test Appended'

it helps some times It seems you want to match a string that has only words from the list, and no other letter in the string.
