How can I set the draggin box mc 50px from the bottom

Does that help One bad thing I'm seeing is you are adding an eventListener every frame that the mouse button is down ( I think ). To not do that, just call start drag once when Mouse Down is true and then stop listening for mouse down. When mouse goes back up, start listening for down again.
code :
function onDown(e:MouseEvent):void
{
    dragxy = mouseX + "_" + mouseY;
    e.currentTarget.startDrag(false, constrainY);
    removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, onDown);
    addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, onUp);
}
function onUp(e:MouseEvent):void
{
    e.currentTarget.stopDrag();
    addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, onDown);
    removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, onUp);
}

it helps some times Can't get this to work. Goal is to create a overflowing scrollable div that stretches the entire width and height of the body. Problem comes once I add a body bottom margin of 50px which I want to reserve to absolutely position a 100% x 50px div control panel. It's essentially a faux iframe with a bottom control panel. , dont use a margin
something like this
code :
<div id="mainContentArea" style="position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; bottom:50px; right:0px; overflow:auto">
</div>
<div id="bottomArea" style="position:absolute; bottom:0px; left:0px; right:0px; height:50px; overflow:hidden">
</div>
Why are two elements only 50 pixels apart when the top element has a 50px margin-bottom and the bottom element has a 50p

will be helpful for those in need Margins overlap on top of each other. The maximum margin of the elements will be the margin between two elements.
If this is not what's happening in IE, it's an IE bug, as this is how CSS was designed to work.

it helps some times instead of height:100%; do bottom:0; and it will go to the bottom of the relative parent or viewport if there is no container set to position:relative;

will help you You can measure .block first, then subtract 50 off it, then move it. This example shows it working without the min-height on the .block:
https://jsfiddle.net/hw14kkoc/4/
code :
$( "#right" ).click(function() {
  var y_delta = $(".block").height() - 50
  $( ".block" ).animate({ "y": "-" + y_delta + "px" }, "slow" );
});

$( "#left" ).click(function(){
  $( ".block" ).animate({ "y": "0px" }, "slow" );
});

hope this fix your issue Typically it would be best to crop your images in something like PhotoShop before uploading them to your website. This is due to the fact that the user will have to download the photos, and smaller dimensions for a photo means a smaller filesize (and thus a quicker download for your user).
If you have to crop the photos on the website itself, you can use the clip property in conjunction with position: absolute:
code :
img {
  position: absolute;
  clip: rect(0px, 80px, 200px, 0px);
}
