this will help I wrote a script that takes a bunch of options (-d, -v, -l, as well as --version, --leader, etc...) and then the rest of the text ($*) can be anything. The script processes the text and spits it out reformatted. It's quite long, so here's a condensed version: , I think what you want here is to avoid reading from a terminal:

like below fixes the issue Process substitution does not work when bash is in POSIX mode. Please disable POSIX and try again.
To disable: This will cause process substitution to work .

Hope this helps That command should work, but there's no need to use process substitution with cat, just put the filename there:
