I hope this helps . The problem is a super simple one that took me longer to figure out than it really should have.
By default the address that the console gives you is a https address to route to. https works.
code :
your_url.com

I think the issue was by ths following , This error commonly occurs when trying to connect with SSL on a socket that is not negotiating SSL.
Confirm that SSL is enabled in the server, and for the port to which you are connecting. I think this should be evident in the server system log.

hop of those help? I just found this article: https://developers.google.com/api-client-library/python/guide/thread_safety.
According to the documentation the Gmail API is built on top of Httplib2 which is not thread safe.
code :
service.labels().list().execute()
service.users().labels().list(userId=user_id)\
   .execute(http=self.__get_credentials().authorize(httplib2.Http()))

it fixes the issue While I'm trying to connect to my localhost, I get [SSL: WRONG_VERSION_NUMBER] error. I'm using '8080' port by default. Previously, I was getting ProxyError, then I changed my url from 'http' to 'https' and now I get SSLError. I've checked some solutions, which prompts to change the port number. Does it have to do anything with the port number, or something else? ,
code :
endpoint = 'https://****:8080/MyApp/services/DBConnection/callLoginProcedure'

wish of those help To answer my own question: beginning with python 3.3, you don't have to hack the smtplib as in this answer, but instead you can pass a SSLContext object when using starttls.
However, be aware: if the login data is wrong, it will still raise an error. If the login data is right, everything works fine if using the following code:
