Hope this helps Sublime does indeed come with it's own version of Python, although it's Python 3.3.6, which you can see by selecting View > Console from the menu and entering the following code (or the code in your question, although in this case that provides slightly less detailed information):
code :
import sys

wish of those help CtrlShiftP is the keyboard shortcut for the Command Palette, which is what you want. You can also open it via Tools -> Command Palette.... CtrlP is Goto Anything, and has nothing to do with Package Control or installing things. Don't use it.
Open the Command Palette by whichever way suits you best, menu or keyboard shortcut. Once there, type PCI and Package Control: Install will be highlighted. Hit Enter, and a dropdown of the full list of available packages should appear. Now, type "sublimerepl" and it should show up. Click on it or hit Enter and you should see a message at the bottom of the window that SublimeREPL is installing. Once it's done, restart ST2 (for good luck) and it should be available in the Tools menu down at the bottom.

around this issue I'm trying to get SublimeREPL to work on Python code that is being edited in a portable version of Sublime Text 3. I would like to have a SublimeREPL setup using the portable version of Python that is installed on a USB stick, but I'm not sure how... Also, I wouldn't mind knowing how to setup SublimeREPL to use a version of Python that's installed on my Windows desktop. , This will do the trick:
code :
"default_extend_env": {
    "PATH": "{PATH}:\\Python\\Portable Python\\IDLE-Portable.exe"}

Any of those help This probably means that the program is still running in the background, one way to end the instance is to right-click somewhere on the open tab that is running the Python instance and select Kill from the contextual menu, instead of going to the Task Manager.
