I hope this helps . You can use web.config to set different variables. Use separate web.config for each environment. Eg. web.release and web.debug. Same way you can use. Separate files for each environment
If you use, Octopus deployment. Use can set in octopus variables also.
code :
  <add key="MyVariable1" value="False" />
  <add key="MyName" value="akshay bheda" />
string myVariable = System.Configuration.ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["MyName"];
<a href="<%= ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["someKey"] %>">

  dev: {

    dest: 'settings.js'
  prod: {
    src: 'settings.prod.js',
    dest: 'settings.js'

wish of those help I've been using different scripts and file system flags to a similar effect.
Different scripts: When you're starting a Docker container, you can pass the command to run. The command might be the name of a bash script corresponding to the role you want the container to perform. For example, to start it in the development's role you'd use
code :
docker run -t -i $tag /etc/rc.dev
docker run -t -i $tag
if [ -e /var/your_project/flags/start_postfix ]; then
  /etc/init.d/rsyslog start
  /etc/init.d/postfix start

help you fix your problem First of all, it sounds like staff members need a local development environment. Developers should not need to push any changes to test them. This slows down development a lot.
A common workflow could look like this:
