like below fixes the issue Imagine your input is 10103.
Now pay attention to this part of the code:
code :
if (num > 1)
    lst_output.Items.Add("All digits must be either 1 or 0.");
    i = 10;
    goahead = 0;
digit = txt_input.Text.Substring(i,1);

should help you out I have a piece of code that generates random characters. The problem is, every once in a while, it returns an error: , this code:
code :
Dim selChar As Integer = rdm.Next(1, 28)
Dim alpha As String = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" (only 26 characters long)
alpha.Substring(selChar, 1)
Dim selChar As Integer = rdm.Next(0, alpha.Length)
Dim selChar2 As Integer = rdm.Next(0, alpha2.Length)

I think the issue was by ths following , TxtWeight is "" (so, nil) because it doesn't exist yet- all the declaration does is reserve the space in the memory but doesn't assign anything.
I'm unsure what you're trying to do here, and I suspect there's more to the code that you haven't posted (so please post it and I'll update my answer).

startIndex cannot be larger then length of string. Parameter name: startIndex MVC4

wish help you to fix your issue That error comes from something like Substring, when the value passed into the startIndex param is greater than the total length of the string. For example, if you had a string like "Just Testing" and you did .Substring(12, 1), you'd get that exception, as the string is only 12 characters long (remember that the index is from 0, not 1, so the last index is 11).
However, there is no code that you've included in your question which does anything like that. As a result, the error is being raised from somewhere else. Track down where you're working with Substring and figure out why your index is exceeding your string length.

My solution was as follows
