around this issue I seem to be having an error I cant find an answer to. I have searched through readme files and angularFire docs all day. I am getting this error in the console , I was trying to import from angularFire instead of angularfire.
code :
import { AngularFireModule } from 'angularFire2';
import { AngularFireAuthModule } from 'angularFire2/auth';
import { AngularFireModule } from 'angularfire2';
import { AngularFireAuthModule } from 'angularfire2/auth';

will be helpful for those in need Maybe this code will help you. Use firebase SDK for authentication instead of AngularFire. In your LoginComponent import firebase:
code :
import firebase from 'firebase';
      (user) => {
        if (!user) {
          console.log("NOT LOGGED IN");
        } else {
          console.log("Logged In as: ", user);

How to retrieve data from Firebase to pass into an array in angularfire2/version-5

Hope that helps angularfire2 uses Observables by default. It's beneficial if you read up a bit on rxjs library.
code :
    .subscribe(res => {
        console.log(res)//should give you the array of percentage.
        this.labels = res;
        // do some calculations here if you want to
        return res.map(eachlLabel=> eachlLabel + " Hello World")
    .subscribe(res => {
        console.log(res)//should give you the array of percentage.
        this.labels = res;
    .subscribe(res => {
        console.log(res)//should give you the array of percentage.
        //do your post processing to your res here.
        res = res.map(x=> x+ " Hello World");
        this.labels = res;

will be helpful for those in need Try using this.db.list('/chats').valueChanges();.
I put return types when i can to help detect errors in compilation, it would help to put a return type in your service.
code :
getAll(): Observable<Chat[]> {
    return this.db.list<Chat>('/chats').valueChanges();

Is it possible to use Firebase without AngularFire2 in Angular 2+?

it should still fix some issue If you don't want to use the AngularFire2 binding library, you have two options:
Use the JavaScript SDK. The AngularFire2 library is built on top of this SDK, so anything AngularFire can do, you can do on the SDK too. Use the REST API, which requires no SDK whatsoever. The REST API is usable from any platform that can make HTTP calls, which includes any web browser in which Angular 2 will run.
