Hope that helps The issue is not with the nameof operator, but rather the fact that you're calling two different functions here. The nameof operator given the HomeController.Index as an argument is equivalent to the string "Index".For example:

This might help you As mentioned in the samples, you must register the OpenIddict MVC model binder to be able to use OpenIdConnectRequest as an action parameter.Reference the OpenIddict.Mvc package and call AddMvcBinders and it should work:
